Our Purpose

Community

Where we live, work, and play, is our place and we will impact our community through our practice and education of sustainable work. We are committed to engaging in what makes our communities unique, livable and thriving. Regen is driven to be responsible stewards of our community through the preservation and responsible management of agricultural land, wildlife habitats, watersheds, and groundwater. With a focus on infill of existing urban fabric and sustainable building practices before consideration of traditional building on undeveloped rural lands. In supporting our community we commit to; local manufacturing, food producers, crafts and tradespeople; walking, bicycling, and public transportation; mixed use zoning; community based living and ownership.

Energy Intelligence

  • Specify super-insulation, and super-insulating windows. Use air-tightening techniques. Use energy-efficient household and office equipment and heating and ventilating systems.

  • Use local materials. Specify materials with low embodied energy.

  • Make the most of natural light. Use energy-efficient artificial lighting.

  • Where appropriate, use energy derived from decentralized, localized and renewable sources such as passive and active solar, photo-voltaic, wind and bio-mass.

Health

A Healthier Life

  • When choosing a building material, consider its effects on the health of the people who will produce, install, use, maintain, remove and dispose of it, as well as the environmental effects of its production and transportation.

  • Install heating and ventilation systems that maintain high-quality indoor air. Reduce ambient and equipment noise.

  • Rely on the energy of the human body (a form of solar energy) before turning to technological sources.

  • Support organic farming and urban gardening.

  • Reduce financial burdens

Material

Resource Intelligence

  • Make smaller places. Remodel before building new.

  • Use durable, high-quality materials in well-crafted assemblies. Specify long-lasting appliances and equipment.

  • Use renewable materials acquired from sustainable sources. Use recycled and resource-efficient materials.Re-use materials.

  • Request job-site recycling. Build-in places for home and workplace recycling. Plan for easy disassembly of buildings and components for re-use or recycling.

  • Specify water-conserving appliances and plumbing fixtures. Plan for gray-water systems. Collect and re-use rainwater.

  • Plant native, perennial, drought tolerant and edible landscaping. Recycle nutrients.

Waste

Waste management is a critical part of our regenerative economy. As landfills continue to overflow with the excess of a consuming world we are committed to do our part to reduce the waste from construction projects and repurpose waste from all elements of our practice.Wastewater waste management is another area of focus for our engineering practice, including the harvesting of available nutrients from waste solids to be utilized for fertilization, and the harvesting of energy from heat and gases. We will continue to strive to reduce all wastes and regenerate all potential waste products in to viable products for a circular economy

Water

As the western US continues to balance population growth against its struggles with drought, water supplies have become increasingly constrained. There is a local, state-wide and global need to conserve precious water supplies by using recycled water in place of fresh water. The traditional, dominant approach to water recycling has been to produce recycled water at centralized municipal wastewater treatment plants using conventional treatment processes and then to deliver the treated water to points of use.A much more efficient approach to water recycling is the use of decentralized wastewater treatment systems that are close to both wastewater sources and the water use areas.Regen strives to achieve an abundant water balance of all water resources, through wastewater reuse, greywater reuse, or rainwater harvesting. Water is our greatest resource, and a major focus of our practice.

Culture

PASSION: Integration in the planning, design, and construction in the regenerative built environment in a way that minimizes the impact on the environment and maximizes the contribution to social and economic vitality.

CULTURE / VALUE STATEMENT: We are passionate, committed, and tenacious soles that thrive on community and the environment. Our technical prowess and love for the outdoors lead to a place in which responsibility and need collide. We are a tribe of individuals who believe in protecting the environment and developing healthy living conditions. We will design and develop with virtue and passion while maintaining the vision.

MISSION: To impact our community and the environment through the development of sustainable buildings while teaching and empowering people to live sustainably.

Landscape

Where we live, work, and play, is our place and we will impact our landscape through our practice and education of sustainable work.Regen believes in positive impact through education toward sustainable practices. Local and regional influence, change, and equity. We are committed to engaging in what makes our communities unique, livable and thriving. Our methodology helps you effectively manage change, so it doesn’t manage you. Equity is being fair and impartial. It is also the value of investment. We engage in projects where wise investment is made to ensure an equitable playing field. Our goal is to impact our community and the environment through the development of sustainable buildings while teaching and empowering people to live sustainably.
